Welcome to the on line home of WYMS Ltd West Yorkshire Medical Services Ltd (WYMS) was incorporated in 2011 with the aim of providing cost effective and enjoyable training for Medical Practices - GP and Dental Surgeries, Private Health Care Providers, Nursing Homes and other organisations in the Health and Social Sector. But over the past few years the credibility of WYMS has increased and we are now working in the Leisure, Education and Voluntary sectors too. WYMS is increasingly engaged in community initiatives and has been delivering free courses for First Responders and heavily subsidised courses for sports clubs and voluntary organisations. Click here for further information. WYMS personnel have also provided first aid cover at local events. WYMS's qualification portfolio has continued to develop in response to client demands and as such, the qualifications on offer has grown exponentially. In response to this demand, a sister organisation, the Quality Training Partnership was established as the training arm of the business whilst WYMS manages the assessments and acts ![]() Our courses and training programmes help organisations to meet their statutory, ethical and regulatory requirements through the development of well trained staff. A full range of programmes are on offer including; Health and Safety, Manual Handling, Food Hygiene, Trainer the Trainer, Resuscitation and First Aid, Pool and Beach Lifeguard Awards, Water Safety, Safeguarding and Customer Care. WYMS and the QTP routinely engage with new technology to improve the learner experience. Classroom based learning and practical sessions are both provided with the latest technology and resources to enhance learning and student outcomes. The most recent addition being the Laerdal QCPR devices. These new and innovative devices provide real time feedback on learner resuscitation skills whilst they practice CPR on the Little Anne manikin. They compliment our First Aid and Lifeguard Courses including in service training. The devices have already improved CPR skills for many of our clients and the technology also provides immediate information to the trainer on the learner performance allowing rapid skill correction. WYMS and the QTP also have custom made and bespoke manikins for use in primary school children's First Aid Skills Courses. These are extremely child friendly, fun to use and they eliminate any intimidation the children may feel when practicing their compression only CPR on the Little Anne. Our tutors can deliver training that may lead to awards on the Regulated Qualification Framework (RCF) and are certificated by a range of Awarding Organisations including:
Our specialist team of trainers have established a series of courses to suit the school environment and provide pupils with emergency first aid skills and water safety awareness. These short but potentially lifesaving courses offer communication skills, social interaction and personal safety awareness alongside confidence building with a humanitarian skill.
The WYMS team can offer assistance with risk assessment, the development of operating procedures and quality management systems. This will help providers and employers to meet their legal, constitutional and ethical obligations. All our tutors are highly trained and have a wealth of experience in industries such as Sport and Recreation, the Emergency Services and Healthcare. Our trainers hold nationally recognised training qualifications and many have been nationally recognised for their teaching.
