Statutory First Aid Qualifications


West Yorkshire Medical Services can provide statutory, paediatric and bespoke first aid and resuscitation training. Our training courses are designed to equip you with vital knowledge and skills to confidently deal with the initial stages of accidents, injuries and illnesses. Our training ethos is on practical, inclusive learning to ensure delegates are provided with the skills that could quite simply save lives. 
 
WYMS offers high quality first aid training that may lead to the achievement of qualifications on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), these awards are issued by our awarding organisation, Qualsafe Awards:


  • QA Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF)
  • QA Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF)
  • QA Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF)
  • QA Level 2 Award in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillation (RQF)
  • QA Level 2 Award in Activity First Aid (RQF)
These awards are designed to meet the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) 1981 regulations and meet OFSTED requirements.

All courses are delivered by highly qualified and experienced tutors who create a friendly and relaxed atmosphere that allows delegates to achieve learning outcomes at their own pace and develop confidence in these essential skills.
 
Qualsafe Awards Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) (3 days)

A nationally recognised First Aid qualification with a validity of three years. This meets the recommendations of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and will help employers meet their statutory obligations. This course is for delegates who do not hold a current First Aid at Work certificate and the course is 18 hours duration. Course content includes; first aid risk assessment, rules and regulations, incident management, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, bandaging, medical conditions and the management of the unwell or injured individual.














Qualsafe Awards Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) (requalification)


An approved qualification with a validity of three years. This is for individuals who have previously attended an approved First Aid at Work course and are in possession of a valid and current certificate. Successful completion of the course and assessment will award candidates with a further approved certificate which is valid for three years. This meets the recommendations of the Health and Safety (First Aid Regulations) 1981 and will help employers meet their obligations for first aid in the workplace.




Qualsafe Awards Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF)


This course designed for small companies and employers whereby the risk assessment process has identified that a full First Aid at Work qualification is not required. 

The decision process takes into account the number of employees and the type and likelihood of any injury that may occur. This course is delivered over six hours and has a validity period of three years.



Qualsafe Awards Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF)

This course meets OFSTED requirements for first aid training in early year’s settings and links to the common core skills of the early years foundation stage. The course is suitable for anyone providing care for children and babies. Candidates will learn essential practical and theoretical skills, so they can deal competently with situations that may arise when caring for children and babies.
